Upper East Side Homes Real Estate

Miami’s Upper Eastside stretches just north of 195 or 39th St. to Miami Shores and typically considers homes east of Biscayne Blvd. The stretch of retail along Biscayne Blvd. has been improving in recent years. Older motels like the Vagabond have been completely renovated and neighborhood restaurants (Sokya, Andiamo, NiDo Café, etc.) are serving residents well. The area includes the following communities from south to north.

Bay Point is one of the few gated and most exclusive neighborhoods in this area and all of Miami. Located directly to the east of the Design District, Bay Point can only be accessed at the guard gate if you are authorized by a resident. Most homes are on dry lots however some residences are on a canal or the most prestigious are on the open bay.

Morningisde is a beautiful community of homes located along the bay. It has two access points both with guard gates. However, the community provides access to the public for its park located on the bay. The park offers tennis, basketball, open grass fields used for soccer and access for boaters.

Belle Meade is a gated community located off Biscayne Blvd. just south of the JFK Causeway/NE 79th St. Homes typically have smaller lots (<10,000 SF). Belle Meade Island has a charming bridge within the community and consists of homes with the water access.

Shore Crest and Davis Islands are just north of Bell Meade and the JFK Causeway. The stretch of Biscayne Blvd. in this area is the last to improve. It is now starting to see some positive change with Mid-Point Plaza and Paulie Gee’s Pizzeria. However, this area offers amazing value for waterfront and dry lot homes alike.
